Is restylane right for me?
Restylane injectable treatments are great for any patient older than the age of 21 who wants to rejuvenate their appearance. Since it has different formulas, we'll customize your procedure to meet your needs. Restylane may help treat early signs of age, such as fine lines on your face, or boost the fullness in your cheeks and lips. It may also treat moderate to severe wrinkles, like laugh lines, frown lines, Crow's feet, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and more. Some formulas include the anesthetic lidocaine, so make sure to share any allergies during your pre-treatment consultation with Dr. Pentel to avoid a reaction.
how is restylane administered?
Restylane dermal injections occur in our office at Dermatology Southeast. We can apply a numbing cream to the treatment areas for increased patient comfort if preferred. We inject the filler into your skin through a very fine needle and then massage the injection sites so Restylane fills the needed areas. Following the injections, we'll apply a cold, gentle compress to reduce inflammation. Every Restylane filler is injected the same way but on different areas based on your specific concerns and cosmetic goals.
What happens after my treatment?
Once your Restylane procedure is done, you may return to normal activities. Your recovery timeframe will vary based on your treatment, so talk to your injector about what to expect. The treated areas will be slightly swollen and red, but this often fades away within a day. Bruising may appear, but this can be concealed with makeup. We recommend that you avoid strenuous activities, like exercise, for at least one day and that you sleep upright for the first night. Most patients will see visible improvements immediately after their treatment, but it often takes 1 – 2 weeks for the final results to develop. Restylane injections generally last around one year based on the specific product selected.
