Candidates for microblading
Microblading is for anyone in the Jacksonville, FL area who wants fuller-looking or more defined eyebrows that last a long time and look natural. Most clients at Dermatology Southeast who undergo microblading usually have slender eyebrows or specific areas they want filled in. Eyebrows with bald spots or thin areas can be caused by scars, genetics, traumatic injury, overplucking, aging, or nutritional deficiencies. Compared to cosmetic tattooing for eyebrows, microblading gives you a natural-looking result, providing full coverage or just filling in certain areas of the brows. Microblading can also add a slight curve to the brow for more shape. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, are not pregnant, and don't have high blood sugar levels, which can affect the healing process.
Microblading Treatment
Prior to your microblading session, you'll attend an initial consultation so we can assess the appearance of your brows. We'll create a personalized treatment plan for you based on your goals and the condition of your brows. We'll then complete the treatment in our minor procedures room with local anesthesia or numbing cream to reduce discomfort. Based on how much treatment is needed, the microblading session may last anywhere from 1 – 3 hours. To start the treatment, we'll comb your natural eyebrows and trim them as needed. We'll then mark your brows with a makeup pen to indicate where microblading is needed. Dermatology Southeast chooses high-quality inks and employs skilled technicians to create natural-looking ink strokes that mimic individual hairs for the best results.
after your appointment
Immediately after your microblading session, you'll be able to leave our office and continue all of your normal activities without any recovery time. You may see mild redness around the treated areas, but this usually fades in a few hours. Your brows may appear darker right after your treatment, but they should lighten to your goal shade within two weeks. Dr. Pentel recommends that you make a follow-up appointment about a month after your first treatment to touch up and finalize your eyebrows. Microblading results on average last 1 – 2 years, but we can perform treatments as needed to maintain the look of your eyebrows.
