Frequent Questions & Answers

How early should I arrive for my cosmetic services?

If you are a new client, please check in at the reception desk 30 minutes before your first scheduled service or consult to fill out paperwork, change and familiarize yourself with The Laser Cosmetic Center at Dermatology Southeast. Unfortunately, late arrivals may not receive an extension of scheduled treatments, so as not to inconvenience other cosmetic guests.

If you require topical numbing or anti-anxiety medications, we request that you arrive 60 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment for your specific instructions.

May I bring my child to the Laser Cosmetic Center?

Services for guests 13-17 years old are available. Teen peels, facials and microdermabrasion are added to our menu specifically for your teen. Cosmetic guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

When you are having a scheduled service, please do not bring your children or pets with you, as they will not be allowed in the treatment room.

Should I tell anyone about any physical, medical, or allergy concerns?

Upon arrival to The Laser Cosmetic Center at Dermatology Southeast, you will complete a brief health history form and a skin care analysis questionnaire. We encourage our visitors to inform us of any pertinent health conditions which may affect their experience. We encourage you continue to update us on changes in medications, allergies, or other health conditions with each subsequent visit.

If you have a history of cold sores/fever blisters please inform us before any procedures, as you may need pre-treatment with medications prior to your services.

Can I receive any services if I am pregnant?

We have many procedures and services available, please speak with a staff member to discuss what options may be safe during pregnancy.

May I use my cell phone in The Laser Cosmetic Center at Dermatology Southeast?

As a courtesy to other guests and to promote an environment of relaxation we ask that all cell phones, PDA, and pagers be turned off and not used while in The Laser Cosmetic Center at Dermatology Southeast.

How do I prepare for my cosmetic and laser services?

Each cosmetic and laser service may require a different set of instruction. You will be given pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions at the time that you schedule your appointment. Please request a copy if none is given to you. This pre-treatment instruction is very important to assure that you have a safe and effective treatment session.

If you have recently had sun exposure or a spray tan, please inform your provider as this will affect your treatment, and it may need to be rescheduled.

Please refer to pre and post instructions as to when and what medications to stop before and after treatment, sun exposure precautions, medications or topicals that may be encouraged prior to your services and any other pertinent information with regards to your specific treatment.

If you require anti-anxiety medications, you must have arrangements for a designated driver to take you to and from your scheduled procedure. If you have any further questions or concerns, new patients please contact us.
